Review- Barfi

Performances- Ranbir Kapoor as a mute and a happy go lucky man throughout the movie is spectacular. He proves that The Kapoors are always the talented one right from the ancestry Prithvi Raj Kapoor coming to his age of today where he leaves all other actors of similar age far beyond in terms of performance. Last year's Rockstar showed his agressive nature and won many hearts with awards. This time he shows his charming, naughty and innocent side and sure to win all others who were not impressed yet. Ranbir not only shows a strong screen presence but also makes the lead character as his own. Moments shared with both the actresses is awesome. Well done Ranbir and Congrats in advance for the awards!!!

Priyanka Chopra with her autistic act has catched up every nerves this time. You would have never ever expected that she is such a good actress. The way she fits into the character with her de-glam look and new get up is simply a lesson to the newbies.

Illeana De'Cruz debuts well with this movie. Her skinny look is really appreciated for the romantic portion in the movie, but her old age looks doesn't fit her body language. Apart from that, she plays both the pre-marriage and post-marriage portion and the struggler for her love with great ease and convenience.

Other actors like Shaurabh Shukla, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Rupa Ganguly have done a fair job with their portions.

Whats Good?- Story and the way of story telling is best. The complete love shown between the incomplete people is par beyond excellence. Music is wow and already a blockbuster. Performance by the actresses and of course the one and only one Ranbir Kapoor.

Whats Bad?- Difficult to find.

Overall- Director Anurag Basu (Life in a metro fame, Gangster, Kites fame ) does a good job with his presentation of handicapped people in a new way as they used to be presented as a mentally, socially challenged, dull and boring people always. Every moments are soulful, connecting to the audience and simply a visual treat to the audience. After months of masala south remake entertainer and scriptless blockbuster, this is the movie with strong bond between performance, script, actors and audience.

Rating- 5/5, just go for it. Its time to watch a feel good movie with a smile!!!!

Review- Bol Bachchan

Performance- Ajay Devgan, hilarious throughout. Tough man with soft heart is best portrayed by him. His unique english dialogues is as never heard before. Abhisekh Bachchan has got the right chord this time. His screen presence is praiseworthy. Abhisekh's dual character is really enjoyable. He as a dance teacher in the second half has some great dance moves. Asin and Prachi Desai just look beautiful and suuports the character, nothing much to praise them. Asrani, Archana Puran Singh and Krishna has some terrific funny moments.

What's Good?- Bachchan and Devgan.

What's Bad?- Climax is very simple and not as expected.

Overall- Rohit Shetty ( of Golmaal series and Singham fame) has done a great job and successfully remade Golmaal (Amol Paalekar's). His car stunt has been extended to some bus stunts this time. Some of the moments are really mind blowing, dialogues are brain tickling. Hats off to Bachchan and Devgan Duo!!!

Rating- 3/5, entertainer!!!!

Performances- Shahid Kapoor best in pre- independence role as Javed, his shayaris are really good and you feel like hearing them again.Other two eras are just ok for Shahid. Priyanka normal in all her eras. She could have been screened much better and her 1960's role needs a lot of improvement in terms of accent,looks and even dress and hair styles. Prachi Desai is good has been totally overshadowed.

Whats good? - Music and performances.

Whats Bad?- poor story telling, lack of some interesting sequence and dialogues(except in the Javed-Aradhana era), the audience cannot connect with the emotional and romantic scenes, at times you feel why the hell are you watching this movie??

Overall- Disappointing direction by such a talented director Kunal Kohli ( Hum Tum, Fanaa fame), he should really look for some new concept to present the love sagas in B-town cauz audience are fed up of watching all this rubbish. The movie starts quite well but is really boring after 10-15 minutes, movie goes slow in parts, very predictable. It would have been more effective if director would have presented the story with equal emotions and love in a single era rather than serving this uncooked Khichdi to the audience. The eras have been well set up but you need to have connection with the characters (or atleast should be interesting) while you watch a movie,which is fully lacking. Even actors Shahid and Priyanka have come up with the same type of  performance which we have seen ample of times by them and other actors as well. Sorry Kunal you made a bumper flop this time.

Rating- 2/5 for this Tedhi Medhi Kahaani. Better not to watch. Do not ruin ur time, money and mood.

Review- Rowdy Rathore

Performance- Akshay Kumar as Shiva is totally fun, Rowdy Shiva is the comic icon that no one else could do better than Akshay. Akshay as Shiva is seen wearing unique combination of colors for his dress which was similarly done by Govinda many years ago. Akshay has wonderfully done all the moves of choreographer Prabhu Deva, you will realise Akshay is a good dancer too.

Akshay as Vikram Rathore is a single man army, his moustache has a great significance and its suits well to the khiladi Kumar. He is back with his macho punches and dialogues in a severe action genre and with no surprise he delibrates it perfectly. Akshay tries every shades of a successful actor in this movie,it seems he goes back to 90s where his movie has all the things that an audience wants. 

Sonakshi Sinha as Paaro is similar continuation to her Dabangg character, she is perfect in her next door girl image, not only looking beautiful throughout, she performs well either it be acting,dancing and supporting to this Rowdy actor, especially at the end she has some good lines with the villian.

Whats Good?- Akshay and Sonakshi 's chemistry, their performance, comic and action punches, entire direction, dance moves and music.

Whats Bad? - it has all perfect spices to make this entertainer a bumper bonanza, if you need entertainment then there is hard to find any flaws.

Overall- Actor/ Choreo/ Director Prabhu Deva (of Wanted fame) is again back with a bumper hit south remake, and no doubt he not only remade it but has given his own twists and turns with the same baseline. Wanted was a movie which changed Salman's life and since then he haven't looked behind. Its the same with Akshay Kumar. The time where Kumar's movie( Thank You, Tasveer, etc) stopped bringing audience to the theatre will now rush,howl and jump for him. It seems Khiladi Kumar has really worked hard and the script and direction all favors him this time. Music is already a hit, so no doubt audience will love them while watching movies and advantage of a choregrapher director is that you will see some really good moves in those songs too. Some sequences are well deserved like Akshay- Sonakshi's first few scenes, Explanation of chinta ta ta chita chita to those villians is really funny. Combination of Rowdy Shiva and Vikram Rathore post-interval is really interesting. 

Rating- 5/5, dhassu entertainer, just watch if you love masala movies. Another hit this year. Bomblastic Paisaa Wassool !!!

Performance- Hats off to both the leading actors Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra,the Yash Raj Films  presents another big jodi in Bollywood after Shahrukh-Kajol & Anushka-Ranveer.

Arjun Kapoor infact Debutant Kapoor has delivered a great caliber in his acting skills, the rusty and noisy character suits him well, he reflects his auncle's (Anil Kapoor) Tapori look throughout the movie, his innocence behind those dirty smile and dirty face is very likeable specially when the story demands that.

Parineeti Chopra is another actress to be watched in B-town, she will be leading the industry soon. Her loud and arrogant performance in the movie reminds you of many actresses but she is different from all of them. This new couple is the USP of the movie, well performed guys!!!

Gauhar Khan with her item numbers and special appearance is ok.

What's Good?- Presentation of the movie, songs, music, actors performance and those clashes between Arjun and Parineeti.

What's Bad?- lack of some good action scenes. It seems movie ends up too fast because you dont want such good movie to finish up soon.

Overall- Director Habib Faisal (of Do Dooni Char, 2011) has a great talent in the way of his story telling, his ability to direct the actors so well is really appreciable. These new actors doesnt seem to be new at all and the credit all goes to the director. The music is already a bumper hit with its unique tracks and lyrics. Songs like Chookra Jawaan and Aashiq Jhalla has been well shot and are good numbers. The every scene where Arjun and Parineeti meet each other are the moments to be cherished. Small subjects like Hindu-Muslim cultural differences, their marriage problems, the politics and the growing love between their children has been presented very well. The same old content has been thoroughly studied and has been presented with all new flavors and aroma. It feels like you have seen a successful revised version of Ek Duje Ke Liye, Sohni-Mahiwaal, Lailaa-Majnu, DDLJ and many other. 

Rating- 4/5, romantic movie with a difference, not to be missed!!!!

Review- JANNAT 2

Performance- Emraan Hashmi as Sonu Dilli KKC(kutti kameeni cheez) is far beyond excellent, no actor would be imagined in this character except him, well planned choice of the makers. His perfect screen match up with the role is incredible,he fits in the role of a gun supplier.When coming to romantic and love making scenes;he is born for that. Another hit Emraan,well done!!!

Another Actor should say the hidden talent is Randeep Hooda, he is the other person without whom the movie would not work. Every sequence between Hashmi and Hooda is worth watching.

Debutant Esha Gupta is charismatic and looks beautiful throughout but has to learn bit of acting skills,two males completely dominate movie with their performance.

Whats Good?- The dialogues, sequences between Randeep and Emraan, romance, of course the super hit music and praiseworthy performance by the actors(not the actress).

Whats Bad?- same old gangster story, no new presentation, quite and predictable climax.

Overall- Though the movie is well predictable and with same old concept but is worth watching throughout. Director Kunal Deshmukh has taken a big risk with the same concept of gangster-police type movie but with no doubt he will pull audiences with music,acting, Emraan-Randeep performance and the few love making scenes. The climax would have been better with lots of more chase and actions.The end portion where Esha is not told anything about Emraan is quite unique and would be liked by the audience. Comparing Jannat and Jannat2, it would be worth saying that Jannat was more dumdaar in case of story and actress. Jannat 2 is different and not at all related to Jannat,I doubt if movie would create the same hype without its prequel name before release ( if it would have been given any new name).

Rating- 3/5, movie is watchable, a good time pass but its not better than Jannat.Watch it for Emraan and Randeep,yess definitely another success for Emraan and Bhatt camp after Raaz 2 & Murder 2!!!

Review-Housefull 2

Performances- Akshay Kumar is the show stealer, his perfect comic timings and attitude with comic sense is really praiseworthy. Khiladi Kumar is back with his notorious act and looks, you will be surprised to see him back in his old comic days. John Abraham has lot more to progress in his comic acts but still he is not bad. Shreyas is just negligible. Riteish is always a humorous guy in his movies and as usual he is perfect in whatever he does. Asin, Jacqueline are just ok, indeed they are only to charm your eyes and the actors,no acting and script in their favors. Zarine and Shazahn are worthless fare, it feels their posters only would have been sufficient to lure audiences.

Other gangs of old actors Rishi and Randheer Kapoor, Boman Irani are superb,they deliver all types of acts throughout the script. With no surprise, Mithun daa is all their with his arrogance and suitable role to his hand, he still has the cinematic charisma over the screen. Chunky Pandey carries his part efficiently and humorously.

Whats Good?- Akshay's act is really good. Story/plot is interesting. Music is a plus point and item dance by Anarkali aka Mallaika Arorora Khan is the treat to eyes.

What's Bad?- many low loops throughout the story, its not perfect comedy movie in all parts, lacks sufficient punches. 

Overall- Director Sajid Khan has handled many sequences effectively. Its better than Housefull in many parts but it lacks actress presence than Housefull. Akshay's  'HYAAAAAIII,kyun thakreli hai' is awesome, its effect remains even after the movie ends. 

Ratings- 3/5, watch it for light entertainment and for Akshay Kumar.

Review-Kahaani

First of all huge congrats to Vidya Balan for winning the National Award for best actress 2011 for her outstanding performance in blockbuster THE DIRTY PICTURE.

Performances- No words to praise talent mine Vidya Balan for her performance in this flick.This is not her first time that she has performed well but it is again different way,different story and feel. Balan has just finely walked with her role as a pregnant woman throughout the movie. She is the only lead actor in the movie without any so called Hero,and she delivers it without any doubt.I just praise her personally and completely bow for her brilliant bravura performance. No doubt another award winning performance vidya!!! Take a note,you are the superstar if I would called any actresses in today's date. Other supporting actors like Parambrata chaaterjee as Satyaki, NawaZuddin Siddique as Khan are superb.

What's Good?- Story, script, cinematography, plot, direction and well selection of actors and acting. Vidya Balan is the best of all.

What's Bad?- No bad points,,,,Yess not at all.

Overall- Director Sujoy Ghosh (of Jhankaar Beats fame) has emerged as a top notch director with this flick, being a Bengoli he has well used the culture and filming the sequence related to it.Music has nothing much to do in this flick but it never gives you a chance to miss that point. It is well written and tied up and promises audience to sit and stare.With every second you are intensified and remain shocked when movie ends. When you get out the plexes you will carry bunch of answers to the emerging questions raised by the sequences in the movie. Some sequences like Vidya's search for her husband, entangled mission, the Durga Puja feel in the movie and the climax sequence are simply best.

Rating- 5/5 and a thumbs up to the entire team. Thanks for making such a good movie. All praises to Vidya Balan once again and congrats for another award in the future. Not to be missed, Exclusively Recommended!!!!!

Review-Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya

Performances- Yet again Riteish Deshmukh with his excellent comic timing and expressions brings smile on the faces of his fans. He matches with every sequences in the movie. Genelia D Souza is a complete fresh package thorughout. She holds well and matches up with Riteish. Natural performance is the strength behind her persona. Om Puri is agressive and arrogant and well portrays the character. Other characters are well held throughout the movie.

What's Good?- Music is best, Mohit Chauhan, Atif and Shreya Ghosal are the actors behind the scene. Credits to music duo Sachin-Jigar too. Second half is more interesting and delightful to watch. Chemistry between reel and real life couple Riteish-Genelia is awesome. You will definitely love to watch them together.

What's Bad?- First half is dull, just few comic sequences and songs. Though the movie is of a rom-com genre but it seems it lacks both of the ingredients in parts. Story and performance is all good but neither the audience laugh to the fullest nor they will be loving the movie by heart.

Overall- As it is a film by Tips and many has compared it with Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani (Ranbir-Katreena starrer,previous release by tips), I would say though genre is same but others are different and Ajab Prem ki.. was far more better than Tere Naal Love...in case of story,drama,comedy and romance.

Rating- 3/5,soothing music and acceptable performance makes this movie watchable.

Review- Ekk Main aur Ekk Tu

Performance- Kareena Kapoor with her hubbly bubbly character is all around to set your mind with a gen next image,very similar to her Jab We Met character. She does her role with such an ease and charisma that you feel and wish for such a fren, in fact a girl fren in real life too. Imran Khan is all ok as a mumma's/dad's boy,very unsure of his life, his paths and the goal, he portrays a young boy who has complains with his own life style. New face of Imran can be seen throughout. Boman Irani is perfect,his screen presence is always enjoyable and interesting.

What's Good?- The presentation in first half is really enjoyable. Music and the moments in Las Vegas is simply wow!

What's Bad?- the movie starts with a light hearted comedy and a general relation of a girl and a boy but it ends into the normal serious going love stories, family rebels etc. though presented in modern version.

Overall- It can be a perfect gift for this Valentine's season (as Promoted) but lacks those lovable, messmerizing and enjoyable moments. At the start you could think its gonna be interesting flick with many punches and new definition to a love story but sadly you will only have few glossy moments in your memories. Though the movie starts with a marriage and ends up in friendship but it is not connecting at many times.  Performance wise movie is all ok and it has interesting plot as well but the main reason it will not gather word of mouth is its declining strength in the story and the lack of moments.

Rating- 2/5, watch it only for Kareena and Imran otherwise the movie is all about being single, remaining single and watching it single cauz no one watch bad movies in group:)
